Just back from Year 2. Followed mentor there. Playful and responsive kids they are, that's my first impression. But i'm not worried. All i'm concerned about is the heat! Homaiii~
Anyways, i drove to school today. U hear me? I drove all the way from the campus (in the heart of Kuching) to SK Grogo (in Bau outskirt). It's been 4 years since the last time i drove a car. Dad didn't allow me to drive one since, so i drive like i'm DUI. hahahahahaha!
Decided to rent a car for two months yesterday afternoon and after 5 years, i held the steering tighly and vroom vroom i went.
Thank God i arrived safely this morning though i did lost my way. took me 1 and 1/2 hour to get here. which is almost 3 times the normal duration.
Well, in life there are lots of first times that we're gonna experience.
First toy
First sister
First fallen tooth
First handmade piggy bank
First day at primary school
First time representing the school
First national exam result
First love
First time being a prefect
First time applying for a course in the internet using desktop in a CC
First time driving a car
First day being a teacher trainee
First roommates
First time driving a car in Kuching...
etc...
It's part and parcel of growing up. And i'm almost there. Ke tinggal, being posted as a teacher, pursue my Master degree in Leeds, being married to him who is written to be mine, have kids and etc...
Sometimes i'm really sick of being an adult. I feel like always wanting to go back in time and utilise my childhood better.
But there is a reason why God doesn't let time machines exist. Maybe we need to learn to live in the here and now. It's too hard already, what more if we want to handle our past at the same time.
So even though it's not a big deal for everyone else, i'm proud of today. I, who am a siput sedut in mastering practical things, was able to drive without causing an apocalypse. hohohoho~
